Transformation FIAT 642N Rolfo en OM 150N Rolfo - WIP1

Après avoir réalisé la mise en scène du kit "full open" de la Ferrari 512s de chez Profil24, puis le diorama du camion transportant les voitures du N.A.R.T., il etait évident qu'il fallait relier les deux scènes.

 

Cependant, même si je prends quelques libertés avec la réalité, il me semblait indispensable de dénicher un OM (Officine Meccaniche) 150N Rolfo Ferrari et pas un autre camion qui aurait fait illusion. La production du film de Steeve Mc Queen avait relooké les camions de David Piper pour simuler ceux de la Scuderia, ce qui ne serait pas mon cas, ni de prendre exemple sur Jean Claude Baudier qui a contourné le problème sur son diorama du paddock 1970 présenté à Rétromobile en 2011, en redécorant un transporteur Abarth en Ferrari.

L'achat d'un kit italien du camion Ferrari aurait pu être la solution, mais à ma connaissance il n'en existe que deux versions assez coûteuses, et par ailleurs difficiles à se procurer. le modèle en kit de chez TRON models ayant un coût d'environ 200€, je ne me persuadais pas de faire cette dépense sur internet et quant au modéle ABC Brianza, sa rareté est aussi élévée que son prix.

Les photos de ce camion sont assez nombreuses, et il m'est apparu que la caisse porte-autos n'était en fait pas plus compliquée à concevoir que celle du FIAT du N.A.R.T. Restait donc à trouver une cabine OM...et là j'avouais être face à un blocage. Même en faisant des recherches de l'autre côté des Alpes, il n'y avait rien qui puisse servir de base...hormis les kits TRON ou ABC Brianza.

Or à force de chercher, je me suis rendu compte que l'OM avait remplacé le FIAT 642 dans bons nombres de convois porte-autos et même si la forme générale de l'OM150 est totalement différente de celle du FIAT, le volume de la cabine semblait resté le même. L'idée de s'appuyer sur un FIAT 642 pour le transformer en OM 150 me traversa l'esprit.

A grands coups de mastic et de Dremel, il serait surement possible d'obtenir quelque chose de ressemblant, d'autant qu'avec un exemplaire du FIAT issu d'une série presse, la mise ne serait que d'une vingtaine d'€: somme bien plus supportable que l'achat d'un kit. Si le projet n'allait pas au bout il me resterait au moins quelques piéces détachées pour effectuer d'autres réalisations.

However, even if I take some liberties with reality, it seemed essential to finding an OM (Officine Meccaniche) 150N Rolfo Ferrari and not another truck that would have made illusion. Production of Steeve McQueen film had revamped the David Piper trucks to simulate those of the Scuderia, which is not my case, nor to emulate Jean Claude Baudier which has bypassed the problem on its diorama of the paddock 1970 presented at Retromobile in 2011 in Paris, by redecorating an Abarth truck with the colors of Ferrari.

The purchase of an Italian kit of the Ferrari truck could be the solution, but to my knowledge there are only two versions rather expensive and also difficult to obtain. the model TRON models in kit with a cost of about € 200, I do not persuaded me to do this expense on the web and as for the ABC Brianza model, its rarity is as high as its price.

Photos of this truck are quite numerous, and it occurred to me that the car-carrier bodywork was not actually more complicated to design than that of the NART truck. It remained to find an OM cab... and then I confessed to face a deadlock. While doing research on the other side of the Alps, there was nothing that could be the basis ... except TRON or ABC Brianza kits.

But by dint of searching, I realized that the OM had replaced the FIAT 642 in many convoys car-carrier and even though the general shape of the OM150 is totally different from that of the FIAT truck, the volume of the cabin seemed remained the same. The idea of relying on a FIAT 642 to turn it into an OM 150 crossed my mind.

With lots of putty and with a good Dremel, it would probably be possible to get something like, especially with a die cast of FIAT from a press series, the purchase is only a twenty €: far more bearable amount that the purchase of a kit, and if the project was not going after me, it would stay at least a few spare parts for performing other achievements
